Since 2012, Streets Alive! has been a car-free event purposed to create a community space for people of all ages to walk, dance, bike, skate, play games, make music and enjoy great food and fun. Admission is free for all!
This year, we’re celebrating the 2019 Evansville Streets Alive! event as a Bike Day on the Trail and a parking-lot party in the Promise Zone! Join us as we take bike rides along our beautiful multi-use trail located on North Main Street. We encourage cyclists of every age to bike on the trail! Following your bike ride, take part in the many activities at the parking-lot party located within the old Buehler’s IGA grocery store parking lot located at 200 North Main Street, Evansville, IN 47710 , between Illinois and Franklin Streets. A big thank you to Houchens Industries for allowing us to use their lot for Streets Alive!
Event kick-off will begin at 1 p.m. with bike rides and activities until 4 p.m.
Ride your bike along the North Main Street Multi-Use Trail to Garvin Park, then back to the Buehler’s IGA lot for other fun activities, buy lunch at one of the many food trucks participating from the Evansville Food Truck Association. For those that don’t have a bike? That’s okay—we want you to join us to celebrate with fun, healthy activities, free bicycle safety education information, or for the planned free health screenings in the lot.
This is truly a ‘quality of life’ event for our community that encourages fun, healthy, recreational activity utilizing our local trails. Through partnerships and collaboration, we create opportunities for all of our community members to experience what building healthy communities is all about, and it wouldn’t be possible without your participation!
The Streets Alive! Bike Day in the Promise Zone event is presented by the Evansville Trails Coalition to the community to promote active lifestyles for health and wellness and to bring awareness of our local trails. Because of our generous sponsors, admission is free for everyone at this event and has been since Streets Alive began eight years ago.
Our generous sponsors make it possible for Streets Alive! to be a free event for everyone!
A special thank you, to Ivy Tech Community College Public Safety Academy and North Side Kiwanis for providing the brand new children's bikes for our bike Giveaway!
